St. Francis Mission Meal Saturday, January 25, 2014

An over whelming response to the call for warm clothes, mittens, scarves and hats today.  All of the these items were available to the community of West Hill.   Along with the outer wear came dozens of volunteers to help serve a very nutritious meal, with salad fruit, chili and bread.  Thanks goes out to Susan, Eric, Kathy, Louis, Pam, George, Fr. Hunter, Deacon Scott and his crew from St. Georges.  We served over 100 meals and also 100 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  A prayer table staff braved the 19 degree weather and handed out hats and gloves along with prayers.

Outreach to the Community in Albany

 Winter Wear needed at St Francis Mission.

The people of the community of St. Francis are in need of warm clothes.  Please bring clean coats (all sizes), hats, gloves, mittens, scarves boots, and socks to the Cathedral of All Saints for our next visit.
We also have a request for MP3 player and  a durable and super warm sleeping bag.

Along with helping serve the meals at the Mission of St. Francis, we also as a community provide donated clothing, non perishable food, books and some toys for the people.  Please bring donations to the Cathedral of All Saints on Sat or Sunday 9AM to 12PM or to St. Francis on Saturdays between 10 and 11AM.

Mission Possible Accomplished~

        Thanks to all who helped with the community meal and prayer table at St. Francis Mission.
We worked with St. George's Church again this month to provide meals for around 100 people.
George, Susan, Kathy, Jana, Eric and Karen along with Dcn Scott and some volunteers from St. Georges'
Spent some time today, preparing meals, talking with the folks who live near by and praying for those who asked.

Wishing All the Saints a very Merry Christmas!

Planning farther ahead,  They have begun digging the foundation for Sheraton Hollow Apts.

Hopefully there will be an opportunity to help Habitat for Humanity in the not too distant future.

Thanks for all the help at the Thanksgiving Feast and Praise and Prayer service Nov. 30th

We had an awesome day of Praise and Prayer and spending time with the community of West Hill
Thanks to Jana, Susan, Fr. David, Paula (prayers), Bob and Christie, Jon and friend WWII Vet.
Thanks to the many people who turned out to help from St. Georges' Church, Thanks to Mike Moore of White Couch for his testimony and Thanks to the rest of the group for beautiful praise music.  White Couch now knows " I am the bread of Life"  The service was wonderful with about 30 people in attendance.
Thanks to Dcn Scott for the homily and leadership.  Happy to be part of this mission group.  Blessings and Honor and Praise and Glory be all unto you, O Lord our God.

Details:  This is a Thanksgiving Feast.  

There will be a service of praise and thanksgiving

 prior to the meal at 10AM in the sanctuary.

At the same time, volunteers will be preparing this feast for over 100 people.  Come join the fun!

Donations for the Mission at St. Francis

Hello Saints:

      Our intended project for the Weekend of Sept 21 with Habitat for Humanity has been delayed at least into October.  When we do volunteer with Habitat, the project will be in or around Sheraton Hollow or in the Albany area.  Please contact me if you would like to be a part of this project.  Updates will be sent as available on this. email: susanplaske@gmail.com
